At 10am one of Mach’s DC’s (Cooroy) was unexpectedly impacted by cascading failures caused by Energex power services (arising from severe weather) and sufficient tertiary/independent redundancy services did not engage automatically.
Mach staff arrived quickly onsite and determined a way to workaround the combined set of circumstances hindering power flow to all circuits within the DC; with equipment installed from 11am and all services restored within 30mins.
Throughout this time, customer services operating with multi-DC high availability solutions (e.g. Exchange Email) were unaffected.
