Mach’s Managing Director, Paul Pettigrew, was invited to present to the international OpenStack Conference & Design Summit 2011 in “Silicon Valley” (Santa Clara, California, USA).
He spoke to how we are about to commence our “NG” project, having selected OpenStack to be the core – which will be integrated with a number of other leading Open Source tools and processes, to create a turnkey Public + Private Cloud platform for the next generation of full service ICT outsourcing solutions. Key aspects of the integrated capability include: ITILv3 Service Management system (OTRS::ITSM); Unified subscription/billing platform (Jbilling); support multiple clients, with all Cloud layers multi-tenant, across multiple data centres; 24/7 automated monitoring and self-healing done via a highly advanced implementation of Zabbix; IPv6 fully supported; using OpenFlow & Open vSwitch for advanced networking and security segmentation; and MediaWiki for documentation.
The conference was held over the 4-day period 26-29 April 2011 and included speakers from other leading organisations at the forefront of “next generation” cloud computing technology including: NASA, ebay, RackSpace, Wikimedia, Cisco, Intel & Citrix.
